Top Tip - Peugeot/Citroen

Covers – All Peugeot/Citroen models with stop start

Issue

 
Customer advises that there is a battery warning on the instrument panel and that the stop start is inoperative.

Possible faults

 
Engine - ECU fault codes U1134, U1133, U1400

 

Action

  1. Check the resistance of the LIN wires between pin 10 of the stop/start ECU 10, pin black connector (3), and pin 49 of the engine ECU 53 pin black connector, and pin 5 of the alternator 5 pin black plug.
  2. Check the resistance of the LIN wires between pin 9 of the stop/start ECU 10 pin black connector (3), and pin 37 of the engine ECU 53 pin black connector and pin 4 of the alternator 5 pin black plug.
  3. The 12 V supplies at pin 7 of the stop/start ECU 10 pin black connector (3).
  4. The 12 V supplies at pin of the stop/start ECU (4).
  5. Check the connections at (1) and (2) for rust and to check if they are coming loose.
  6. Check the stop/start ECU 10 pin black connector (3) loom plug side for damage
  7. Disconnect the alternator black 5-way connector and check for any damaged or bent pins.
  8. If the wiring connections and plugs are in good condition, then disconnect the alternator black 5-way connector: If the fault code U1134 has disappeared replace the alternator, If fault code U1134 appears again double check connections and if all ok the replace the stop/start ECU.
